WHAT WE BELIEVE

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth (Genesis 1:1).

He created man and woman as the pinnacle of his work, with the intent that we would live in fellowship with Him in the paradise He had created.

Unfortunately, man chose to exert his free will and acted contrary to the rules God had made. In doing so he separated himself from God spiritually (the very definition of sin) and brought the consequence - physical death - into being.

But “God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten son, so that whoever believed in Him would not die, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16).

Jesus Christ is God in human form, and he came to our world, lived with us and showed us how to live, and then paid our penalty for sin through His death on the cross. He himself was sinless, however, so God raised him on the third day, and Jesus returned to his heavenly home shortly afterwards. He did not leave us by ourselves, however: he sent his Holy Spirit - the third manifestation of God - as a means of re-establishing a spiritual connection to God, and securing our place with Him for eternity.

This gift is given freely to everyone who:

Recognizes that they are sinners,  and so spiritually separated from God
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”
Romans 3:23
Receives the free gift of salvation, by confessing their sinful nature and accepting Jesus as the only way to restore the spiritual relationship with God
“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
John 14:6
“If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Romans 10:9
Represents the love of God in the world, by following the example which Jesus set while He was here
“Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven.”
Matthew 5:16

Being a Christian is much more than being part of a religion: it speaks to a restored relationship with God, through Jesus Christ, leading to an intentional way of life based on displaying this love to others by the way we live.
